CAPITALISM 101

Perhaps in the history of men, this is the first time that an economic system creates so much wealth. Capitalism harmonizes with Protestantism, Democracy, Individualism, Competition and Militarism.
The new post-human generation is more interested in creating wealth than in distributing it. Why to distribute wealth among the ones who have not created it?
The questions Who, How, and for What this wealth is created are not topic of conversation today.
Capitalism is a system that creates wealth. There is no limit to the wealth that capitalism can create. There is no limit to the desire of men to have wealth. Enough, has no part in the human mind when it relates to having wealth.
The practice of capitalism creates consequences. The benignant and malignant consequences are experience not only by the capitalist but also by the world’s population.
In Nature all systems are interconnected.

TOMAS TRANSTROME / NOBEL PRIZE 2011 / SWEDEN POET

FROM MARCH 1979

Sick of those who come with words, words but no language,
I make my way to the snow-covered island.

Wilderness has no words. The unwritten pages
stretch out in all directions.

I come across this line of deer-slots in the snow: a language,
language without words.

Tomas Transtrome was born in Stockholm in 1931, Sweden.
“Transtromer’s poetry has sharp contrast and duality – a world of dark and light, inside and outside, dreaming and waking, man and machine, stillness and turmoil – and he is fascinated by the pressure between the world we know and the hidden world we cannot deny.” Robin Robertson.

—Translated by Robin Robertson

After graduating in psychology, he worked in a young offenders’ institute in Linkoping. He worked great part of his life with juvenile delinquents, convicts, drug addicts and the physically handicapped of Sweden Social Democratic system.

” Transtromer’s is a poetry of sharp contrast and duality – a double world of dark and light, inside and outside, dreaming and waking, man and machine, stillness and turmoil – and he is fascinated by the pressure between the world we know and the hidden world we cannot deny.”

Dr. Bronner’s Constructive Capitalism

Dr. Bronner’s believes in running a business that is good for its employees, society and the planet. As well as funding Fair Trade projects, we dedicate a significant portion of our annual profits to funding positive social change. All full time-employees receive up to 25 % of their salary as a bonus every year, get 15 % of their salary as profit sharing retirement, and have 100 % free health care for themselves and their families. ALL ONE!

Happiness and Satisfaction

The reason of the existence and the purpose of life of the human race are philosophical themes well examined and discussed by Eastern and Western schools of thought.

Happiness is not the same thing as satisfaction with ones’ life. Some nations that have low or average life satisfaction report high percentages of very happy individuals. Western nations with high levels of material abundance, present the highest levels of suicide.

“The purpose of life is to be happy,” wrote the Dalai Lama. This is not true for psychoanalysis, one should add, the pursuit of pleasure can not be ignored. In some cultures the enjoyment for life come naturally, in others it comes from complex sources. Buddhism and American materialistic capitalism, although in search of the same outcome, happiness, are in many aspects antagonistic.

With Conditional Love for my friends of 9&9 Tower Cinema

Two foundational axioms; from Denis Levy’s work:

1   Cinema is capable of being an art, in the precise sense in which one can identify, among the none divided of forms and subjects, cinema-ideas.

2   This art has been traversed by a major rupture, between its identification, representative and humanist( ‘Hollywoodian’ ) vocation and modernity which is distanced, involving the spectator in an entirely different manner.

Can you elaborate Mr. Levy?

The passage of an idea in a film presupposes a complex summoning forth and displacement of the other arts – theatre, the novel, music, painting…- and that as such ‘pure cinema’ does not exist, except in the dead end vision of avant-garde formalism.

No film, strictly speaking, is controlled by artistic thinking from beginning to end. It always bears absolutely impure elements within it, drawn from ambient imagery, from the detritus of other arts, and from conventions with a limited shelf life. Artistic activity can only be discerned in a film as a process of purification of its own immanent non-artistic character. This process is never completed. Alain Badiou. Infinite Thought. 2014.

Religious Fundamentalism / Food for the poets

A religious group in Israel convinced of the literal truth of the Old Testament that the Messiah will come when a totally red calf is born is spending great amounts of energy to produce, through genetic manipulation, such a red calf.

John Grey, “Straw Dogs.”  “The religious fundamentalists see themselves as having remedies for the maladies of the modern world. In reality “they are” symptoms of the disease they pretend to cure.

The Prostitutes of the Mind

Money – paying the analyst – is necessary in order to keep him/her out of circulation, to avoid getting him/her involved in the imbroglio of passions which generated the patient’s pathology. This is why a psychoanalyst is not a Master-figure, but rather, a kind of “prostitute of the mind,” having recourse to money for the same reason some prostitutes like to be paid so that they can have sex without personal involvement, maintaining their distance – here, we encounter the function of money at its purest.
